                I packed my things quite late due to some hesitation because I had not been feeling well due to the summer heat. A week prior to the Mass Training of Teachers (MTOT)   I diligently took my medicine to be assured that I would be A-Okey.                   The early morning bus to Iloilo was cramped with teachers attending the MTOT.   Familiar faces boarded the Ceres Liner and together with my two co-teachers we took the time sleeping to catch the lost hours of a good night sleep.                 Proceeding to St. Paul’s University, we were greeted by courteous and beautiful looking young students who directed us to our places of concern.   Things went on smoothly.          ...

Two Mothers . . . for nine months she bore me, taking all the nourishment and precautions to make me live; I could hear her silent pains but she responded with smiles. when I came out of this world she almost lost her life because the long hours of labor pains weakened her and complication in the medication worsened her situation. but her love and perseverance gave her the extra strength to hang on. in the absence of a father working far from home, she raised me and three other siblings. nights were made days to earn an honest extra living. we maybe deprived of a comfortable home and other amenities in life but we had a home that is accommodating and filled with love, care and understanding needed to make us whole. we had been properly educated not from exclusive schools but we treasured the wisdom a public school life can offer . the four of us can proudly say that we were raised in a modest home and we’re never deprived of the de...
